Buyer Terms

1. Buyer responsibility

A buyer must have authority to request and purchase the work and must provide lawful, accurate and sufficiently complete requirements. J2D does not choose a seller for the buyer and does not guarantee a seller’s suitability.

2. Requests and invitations

Requests must describe the real need, scope, budget approach, timing, location where relevant and any material constraints. Invitations are opportunities to bid, not promises of work. Buyer invitation limits and eligibility controls may depend on account verification. A buyer may invite any otherwise eligible seller discovered through J2D, even where the seller was not algorithmically recommended.

3. Selecting a seller

Buyers should assess the offer, seller profile, verified evidence, experience, language, location, availability and proposed scope. A badge or recommendation is not a guarantee. The buyer is responsible for confirming that any regulated, licensed or specialist work may lawfully be performed.

4. Payment and scope

The buyer must pay required amounts through J2D before work or a funded milestone begins. The accepted offer, service package, agreed requirements and recorded scope form the transaction basis. Material additions should be agreed through an additional milestone or new order rather than treated as a free revision.

5. Cooperation, delivery and acceptance

Buyers must provide required information and access promptly, communicate professionally and review deliveries in good faith. A buyer must not withhold acceptance to obtain unpaid extra work. If a delivery is materially incomplete or out of scope, the buyer should identify specific issues through the workroom and use the dispute process where necessary.

6. Consumer status

Where a buyer acts as a consumer, mandatory consumer rights remain applicable. The identity and trader/non-trader status of the seller, and the allocation of responsibilities between J2D and the seller, should be considered before purchase. Consumer rights against a seller may differ where that seller is not acting as a trader.

7. Reviews and misuse

Reviews must reflect a genuine completed transaction and comply with the Reviews and Trust Policy. Chargeback abuse, false disputes, fabricated complaints, coercive review threats and attempts to obtain free work are prohibited.
